＜ミニ解説＞
TBSの報道番組「NEWS23」（メインキャスターは筑紫哲也さん）は
平日夜に毎日放送されているため、「nightly＝毎晩の」という形容詞
が使われています。
「affair」の本来の意味は「事件、出来事」ですが、今回のように
「不倫、情事」というニュアンスを持つ場合もあり、文脈から判断
できます。
それで思い出すのがこれ↓ですね。

彼の実習生モニカ・ルインスキーさんとの不倫関係はスキャンダル
になった。
いわずと知れた、アメリカのクリントン前大統領を巡る騒動です。
